The Territorial Canadian Violent Goose

Most of us enjoy thinking that wild animals are inherently friendly creatures who wish us no harm. We like to believe that we can relate to nearly animal that we come across or that we have control of any situations we might find ourselves in when faced with a creature from the wild. This might be true for animals like deer that are easily spooked but would you believe that it’s necessary to hire people like myself in order to establish Canada Geese control in NJ? Would you ever look at a goose and believe that it’s an animal capable of killing an adult human? On first inspection it’s not something one would easily believe or even think to be of the truth. However, it is true and it has happened even in recent years. I can think of two stories of when a wild Canadian Goose was responsible for the vile murder of humans.

The first was a gardener who worked as a landscaper in Chicago. The property he worked on had its own pond which attracted numerous geese. Like any normal person he never suspected that behind those lifeless black eyes gazed a potential killer. This poor man found himself knocked into the pond where he was forcibly submerged again and again until life left his body. The second is a simialr story with another man in near duplicated scenarios except he was kayaking for pleasure when a Goose knocked him out of his kayak. These creatures are dangerous! Think of the potential threat they pose against our children or even our pets? When I work in controlling them which typically involves forcing them off a property with traps or even killing them when we are left with no choice they will often attack as soon as I step onto the property. They’re incredibly territorial.

Keep the Mirror a Secret

While my parents were away on a business trip, I decided to have a little house party with some of my college friends. I initially invited around 20 people, but each of those 20 people brought friends, who also brought friends, and then I had over 100 people in my home. The party got pretty wild, but luckily no one called the police. While cleaning up after the party, I noticed that a mirror in one of the bathrooms was broken. I panicked, and started looking for a mirror installer in Brooklyn. If my parents saw that broken mirror, they would kill me.

I had three days until my parents came back, which was enough time under normal conditions to get a new mirror installed, but there was just one problem. I was a little short on cash, so I had to find an installer that would fit into my budget. I was really getting worried when all of the installers that I found charged way more than I was able to pay. I thought I was doomed, but I was able to find one company that had a price within my range, and I had them install a mirror in the bathroom.

My parents came back and took a look at the house to see if anything was wrong. They searched every inch of the house, but couldn’t find anything wrong. I thought I was in the clear, but there was one detail I forgot. There was a receipt for the bill from the installation, and I left it on the counter in the kitchen. While my parents were making a snack, they noticed the receipt and started reading it. My parents confronted me about the receipt and that’s when I told them the whole story about the broken mirror and the party.

The Death of the Pest

I needed a severe case of pest control in Brooklyn after I had both rats and bugs in my home. The bugs came first, and I tried my best to get rid of them by using some pesticides that I purchased form that local hardware store, but they just kept coming. No matter what I sprayed, they wouldn’t go away. They would appear in every room, and I just go so sick of seeing them. Then the rats came, and I decided that I couldn’t take it anymore. Rather than trying to deal with them by buying various traps, I just settled for pest control.

I looked for a local Brooklyn company that would be able to take care of the pests without charging too much for it. I was living on a fixed budget, so a fair price was crucial. there was one such company, and I contacted them. They agreed to help me out and they sent their finest men over to my home to take a look at the problem. They saw all of the bugs and the rats that were running around and immediately took out their equipment. They started spraying in the areas where the bugs live and put down some traps for the bugs and rats. They also used a special poison for the rats.

The men were able to get rid of all the rats and said that the bugs would die out in the next couple of days. In the first day, there were already a ton of dead bugs that were all along the ground. i had to do a lot of sweeping to get rid of them. The next couple of days produced more dead bugs, and they were no longer in every room of the house. My nightmare came to an end.

Shower Door Replacement in Essex County

I need to get a new shower door put on the shower in my bathroom, because the current one is pretty messed up, and pretty much any time that you try to open or close it, it basically falls off of the hinges. Which is kind of ridiculous, but I guess that it is a pretty old door, and everything breaks eventually. I am checking out shower doors in Essex County NJ and my main objective is to figure out how much it would cost me to pay someone to come to my house and replace my shower door with a new one.

It is something that I have been meaning to do for awhile now, but the door was still somewhat functional, and so I kept putting it off. But my wife was yelling at me about it this morning, and so I reckon I better get around to actually taking care of it. It does seem like it is on the verge of permanently breaking, and I would not want to have to go without a door on the shower.

I want to get a door that will last and will not fall apart. I do not like having things replaced in my house, because it always seems like something about the experience will make it a hassle. I do not know why things never seem to go as smoothly for me as they should, but it is what seems to happen pretty often. I guess that I should just not worry about it though, because it is not like I can change it. If I stop worrying and complaining, then maybe the experience will go better from my perspective. But I would like to get this door replaced today because I am off of work today and have the time.

What are some soccer drills you can do by yourself?

  1. Hi. I would like to know what kind of soccer drills I can do by myself. I am an above average soccer player but I would still like to work on my game. I play either as an attacking mid or a winger. Also I would really appreciate if someone can tell me drills for trapping/receiving a pass; such as when someone passes me the ball hard and/or passes the ball to me high. Thanks in advance.

    Answer by Mike
If you’re by yourself, you won’t be able to practice much in trapping. You can punt the ball straight up and work on first touches from vertical crosses but nothing on the ground unless you have a wall you can kick against. I wouldn’t suggest it.

By yourself…. practice carrying the ball. Dribble and finish over and over and over. That’ll get you better.

  2. I am trying out for goalkeeper tomorrow, I have had some coaches say “punt” and others say “ground it.” Im not sure which one I should do when. Does anyone have an answer or a website I can go to?
    Sorry, its so long!

    Answer by playmaker4747
It depends on the situation. If the defense is slow getting back, punt, with hopes of starting a break. If the defense drops quickly, then roll a grounder to an open defender and let him carry and start the attack that way. It also depends on the game situation: if you’re a goal ahead in injury time, for example, you’ll of course want to punt, and put the ball down in the other end to use a bit of time. There’s no one answer….

  3. I’m an incoming freshman I want to try out for my high school soccer team and they are really good. I was wondering what you get tested on such as endurance, stamina, reaction time, dribbling, juggling, etc. I am horrible at juggling and I really wanted to know if you get tested on that. Any answers would be great, Thanks!

    Answer by Jack
At my school to be on Varsity or JV you have to run 2 miles under 13 mins. Since you are a freshmen you dont necessarily need to make that time since you probably would be playing on the freshmen team. Usually juggling is linked to the your ability to dribble around players since you are not to good at juggling work on touching the ball constant weather its kicking at a wall or punting the ball up and trapping the ball.

  4. I need some exercises for my little soccer career. I need to get good because we`re having some up-coming games, and are goalie coach is on break or something, so I need some good self-training exercises.

    Answer by K
do crunches and when you are coming up have someone throw the ball to you side to side. This works on abdominal strength and good reactions. An easy one is to punt the ball at the goalie, not very hard but in different directions so the goalie has to dive. lay cones diagonally pretty far apart and teach the goalie the right technique to reach the cone. extend the leg point at the cone and dive. Here is a link that is very useful in teaching goalies.

  5. I have a Soccer game championship and Im the goalie, so can anyone give me some ways or tips to be the best goalie I can be?

    Answer by snyder
Well, I’d played soccer since about 5th grade, and was always a goalie. I received many awards in high school.
One of the best pieces of advice I received and always used is: Never hesitate in the goal, make a decision and stick to it because you most likely don’t have time to change it. Hesitation leaves room for mistakes. If you think of coming out to challenge a player one on one, hesitating gives them the upper hand.
Another important thing is to always remember the basics. Even though they seem easy or so well know to you, they are your best tools. Try hard to practice strong like you would play in a game. Messing around at practice can lead to lazy and bad habits in the goal. And trust me, they are very hard to break!

Those are some basic things I can think of, if you have any specific questions or issues you need help with, let me know…I’ll be glad to help!

Oh…and getting ready for championships…its always good to practice shots taken from the PK line, because they can be the tie breaker if that is to happen! Good luck!

Getting the Best TENS Unit for Back Pain Therapy

I go through periods where I need daily therapy on my back just to be able to function at work. I know I have weak muscles in my back. I have been doing light exercises for along time to try and build them up. My back feels as fragile as a dozen of eggs. For home therapy I was looking for the best TENS unit I could find. Instead of spending hours in physical therapy each week, I can use my TENS unit at home. I provides electrical stimulation directly to the affected muscles.

If you dial it up, you can make the muscle groups flex. If you dial it down you just get a slight buzzing feeling in the muscles. This therapy really works with me. I use it a little each day to help keep the pain toned down. Nothing takes it away in its entirety, but the best TENS unit I could find sure does minimize the pain that tries to hang around week after week and month after month. I am not even sure what I did to my back to make it feel like this. All I know is that it can really hurt sometimes.

It used to be that you needed a clinical setting for TENS therapy. Now there are over-the-counter options for TENS therapy that are available without a prescription. You can buy those cheap units in pharmacies, but you really want something that can do a good job in relieving your pain. This is why I took the time to look into getting the best TENS unit I could find online to help me with my back pain. You also want something that does not cost a lot for the patches you need to connect the unit to your skin. Another thought is having durable wires that will hold up as you move throughout your day if you wear it while at work.

I Need to Get an Adapter

It took me a good while to explain what I wanted, which they did not have at the Office Depot. They thought I wanted to buy laptop adapter, but what I need is something which would allow me to use a hard drive with my tablet. I have a couple of small pocket sized hard drives which are powered by USB, so it seems like they should work on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, but they are not recognized. I have this adapter which should work and it will do just fine with a thumb drive. I can use the 8 gigabyte thumb drives that I have, but that is only enough for one or maybe two High Definition movies. I am thinking that I can put all the movies, TV shows and music that I could reasonably need on that Western Digital portable 1 TB hard drive. I can probably tape it to the back of the tablet really, although I am not sure that would be a good idea to be honest. At any rate I am wondering if there is a limit to how much power you can draw off of the tablet, or perhaps it does not really produce much power for external devices like hard drives. I need to figure out if it is possible or not. You can buy really big USB drives, but they are really expensive. In fact I see one that is a really good deal compared to the others, but the others cost pretty much the same as what I paid for my terabyte hard drives. Obviously those are four times as big as those. Of course if I had a couple of them that would serve the same purpose, but I already have the hard drives and so I would like to use them

Both of My Parents Needed Help

When my parents were involved in a car accident a few months ago, they both had extensive injuries. They spent some time in rehab, then they were able to go home. I was extremely concerned about them going home so soon, but they both assured me they would be find because of the arrangements they had already made. They had contacted a company that does senior home care in Queens, and they liked everything that the company provides with their in home services. Since I live nearly 500 miles away, I was just glad that they would have professional help at home.

I went to the website that they gave me, and I felt much better after reading about this company in full detail there. I knew that they were in good hands, and I was just relieved that they would not have to take care of the little details on their own. My father broke his right leg and had internal injuries, and my mother had broken her right leg and her left foot, so she was stuck in a wheelchair until she was completely healed. They both still had to go through rehab, and this company even helped with that.

While a physical therapist could have come to their home, it was going to help both of them a lot more if they could go where all of the therapy equipment was. Since neither of them could drive while having broken legs, the company actually provided transportation for them too. Not only did they help with their meals, cleaning and hygiene needs during this time, but they made sure they go to where they needed to be like the physical therapy appointments and doctor appointments. They are getting better every day, and they are getting pretty spoiled too with all of the attention they get from their aides!

Started My New Job This Week

I can not say this is the greatest job ever, but if this does not kill me. I might end up looking like King Kong. I mean that I am getting a really good work out doing this job. The big thing is that I have to get used to carrying heavy stuff up and down ladders. I am working for this guy who replaces big roof systems and does commercial roof repair in Morris county NJ. I really do not have much idea f what I am doing and I am definitely the low guy on the totem pole. So I have about six or seven other guys who are all telling what I am supposed to do. In essence I am like a beast of burden it seems a lot of the time. You can think about it very simple. You are up on a roof, the roof is about about three stories high usually. So far it has been like that, but they obviously work even higher of the ground. The stuff is in the trucks when it starts out and you have to get it up on that roof. Then at the end of the day you turn around and put it back in the truck.

Obviously you leave some stuff on the roof over the night if you are going to come back in the morning. That does not go for the tools though. Some jerk would probably get a ladder and steal your tools if you did. The stuff you put on the roof, the coatings, it is valuable too, but it is not going to be a lot of use to the random person who does not know how to put it on and has a different type of roof on the house he lives in.

The Easy Way to Look Good

I’ve heard that the Bottomslim program out of Singapore is able to help women achieve results that can typically only be gained from a gym. This is amazing if it’s true; I know there are some methods that can be used to do this and that they are generally difficult to attain but with the right combination of dieting, light exercise and specific techniques it is entirely possible to shape the thighs, buttocks and even the tummy. While getting full body results that display any significant tone or definition may always require a trip to the gym, something minor can be done in the comfort of home.

I’m a supporter of programs like that despite the fact that I will always encourage people to go to the gym. It’s important to be able to learn the basics of exercising as it’s the very foundation of staying fit and healthy in a modern world. It’s far too easy to simply sit around and allow ourselves to grow overtly comfortable. It was a bad habit that I picked up myself not so very long ago and I spent nearly two years being a ‘homebody’. I almost never left my home except to do grocery shopping or work.

It was a bad lifestyle choice that caused me to gain all sorts of unhealthy weight. Now, 3 years later, I am in better shape than I ever have been because I pushed myself day in and day out to go to the gym. I had an ideal weight in mind that I reminded myself of every single day. This is what helped fuel my drive; the reminder that I can reach the goal if I want it bad enough. It doesn’t mean that I don’t like the idea of an easy way out but they’re hard to find.

20 Years of Friendship in Singapore

Finding a short term rental in Singapore turned out to be a lot easier than I originally suspected. I made the mistake of trying to make reservations at the last minute for a long distance flight. I knew that I would be staying in Singapore nearly a year ago but my own procrastination once again lead me to make the plans last minute. I’m honestly surprised that my friends still agreed to see me despite the near nightmare I turned their own plans into. I try my best, really I do, but I get so sidetracked so easily that things fall apart around me.

Luckily, I have friends who understand me. I have friends who have known me long enough to make plans for me! These are the kinds of friends, the kind of people, that I can’t even describe how thankful I am to have them in my life. I don’t deserve these people. They came into my life when I was very young and have known me for nearly 20 years now. Despite years of having to deal with my frazzled, disorganized methods they have stuck by me no matter what. There’s a sort of love there that can’t be expressed well.

Three of my friends whom I’m visiting in Singapore for Christmas moved out here at the beginning of the year and it has been incredibly difficult for me to adjust to. I feel like both my arms and a leg have been cut off! Nothing quite feels the same without having any of them around. Our weekly routines and rituals that we had built over 20 years of friendship suddenly ceased to exist leaving me wondering what I was going to do with my extra time. Making friends at 30 seems impossible but at least I’m able to visit them here in Singapore.
